A shared day outside
for the Clovis community.

Homeschooling gives families room to shape their days. We’re gathering Clovis and nearby Fresno-area families who want to make outdoor movement and real friendships part of that week.

Tell us which program you would attend in Clovis and whether a weekly or monthly session fits. Preferences help us bring families together for the same session, rather than collecting a general list with no shared plan.

Two ways to get outside

Strong bodies.
Curious minds.

Choose the kind of day your child would love. Both start with real people, shared time and room to move.

New sessions launch once ten participants commit to the same session. Dates, meeting details and price are confirmed before any booking or payment. Sharing interest is not a reservation.

The people behind the program

Meet Scott
and Robbin.

We’re the Belknaps, a homeschool family of six and the people behind Fit Visalia. Scott founded the program through outdoor sessions with our children and their friends. Robbin taught K–6 for ten years.

We’re bringing that hands-on, family-led approach to new outdoor groups. Meet us and ask about your child before deciding to join.

A few useful answers

Before you reach out.

We’re only thinking about homeschooling. Are we welcome?

Yes. You don’t need to have it all figured out to ask a question. Tell us what you’re exploring and what would help your family: activities, friendships or a practical next step.

What does a Fitness Day include?

Visalia sessions include a guided health walk, warm-up and movement games such as relays, sandbag challenges, balance activities and strength basics. Children practice effort and teamwork alongside other kids.

How does Walk & Wonder work for different ages?

A shared question can have different starting points. For example, a younger child might describe what they notice on a walk; an older child might explain why they think it happens and consider another explanation. These are examples of the approach, not a fixed lesson plan. Share your children’s ages when you inquire.

Who leads the day, and how does drop-off work?

Current Visalia Friday sessions are led by Coach Scott Belknap. Parents sign the parent agreement at drop-off and sign their children in and out. For a new group, we confirm the leaders and arrival and pickup arrangements with the session details before you commit.

What should my child bring?

For Visalia Fridays: a water bottle, closed-toe athletic shoes, comfortable clothing and sunscreen. A hat, towel and small snack are optional. We confirm any program-specific preparation when a new session is arranged.

What if the weather is uncertain?

These are outdoor programs. If you are unsure whether your session is going ahead, text (559) 365-6969 about your chosen date before setting out.

Does my child need to be athletic?

No. Visalia fitness activities are beginner-friendly and designed for a range of abilities. Tell us about the support your child needs so we can discuss whether the program is a good fit.

Is this a school?

No. Fit Homeschool by Fit Visalia offers programs and resources alongside your family’s education choices. We’re here to make room for movement, friendships and learning together.

What does Socratic learning mean?

Learning through questions and conversation. Children are invited to explain an idea, listen, ask another question and consider a different answer. In Walk & Wonder, this happens during an entirely outdoor walking and learning session.

When will sessions start?

We’re gathering interest now. Weekly or monthly sessions will launch once ten participants commit to the same session. We’ll confirm dates, meeting details and price before any booking or payment.

Can I use charter-school funds?

Use the provider name Fit Visalia when discussing ordering with your school. Funding depends on your school, the specific program and its approval process; please check before treating a new session as funded. Text us with your school and the program you’re interested in.

Does sharing interest reserve a spot?

No. It tells us what your family is interested in. You decide whether to commit after the session details are confirmed. We do not collect a payment on this site.
